Finmeccanica Corporate Case study

The goal of the project is to analyze the product development process of the Finmeccanica Group companies to offer a synthesis framework and suggest and guide with improvement actions in a lean way. The project aims to analyze the product development process to maximize the reuse and to reduce delays and errors, also identifying the parts that can be considered recurrent (e.g. design aspects such as software development or CAD models), and then define, starting from this analysis, a product development process "benchmark" based on the evaluation of the best practices of companies in the group. The process "benchmark" should be designed to impact, at a corporate level and of individual companies, on cost savings and time.

TARGET/EXPECTED RESULT

The expected result of the project is the definition of landmark models for lean processes that integrate and guide the development of a new product. These processes will be based on a definition of the common parts of the processes and must be able to manage connections at a corporate-level between companies belonging to the Group, also through modeling methodologies of enterprise architectures as well as their processes. These processes represent a standard for companies and will be tailored depending on the program or other constraints.
